"What Matters" fisch bowl
In the fisch bowl I was reading 'What Matters". The reason this one intriqued me was because alot of my teachers seem to be focusing on this question. I feel when Mr. Fisch said at first when the question what matters is asked to his 9th graders last year they struggled with it at 1st then it became easier for them. I know when I was asked this question it was like WOW how am I suppost to awnser this. Its a very geniric question that really made me thinking and pondering this. But I hope as the year goes along I will be able to awnser these hard geniric questions alot better.
"17 pound baby" Denver Post

As I was reading the news I happen to come across a interesting story. This story was not a story that most people are used to hearing or ever heard before. No this story was a story about a baby. But not a normal baby a newborn 17 pound baby. Now whats going through probably most of your minds is how did that ever come out. Honestly I'm not sure but in the article this was the ladies 11th baby and she did not have a huge difficulty as you would think getting it out. The baby and the mother are both fine. Still this was not the biggest baby born that lived. The biggest baby was 22 pounds. (That is huge) The reason that I found this so interesting was not just because the lady had a ginormous baby. But because my sister had a baby about 2 months ago and I do not know what I would even think if my nephew came out a toddler.

As I was reading the news I came across a very disturbing news column. This was about a man with at least 2 kids a 7 year old boy and a cheerleader in high school. The man was the president of the parent’s committee for the cheerleaders. But the parents voted to take him away from the committee after a disgusting happening. The daughter was having a slumber party with a bunch of her friends when the pervert father slept with one of the 16 year old friends. The man had a court case and has to pay 50,000 dollars and can not see anyone below the age of 18. Although what the man did is bad when he asked for visiting rights with his 7 year old son they said no. That is not right that is his son and its not like he is going to do anything like with his kid. So that is not right. The fine and him being removed from the parents committee is right maybe even putting him in jail would be ok. That is where I stand on that.

I was reading the fischbowl "How do you value test scores" it did not really makes sense to me. This is because the man lives 5 minitues away from a school that scores very high on test scores but he decides to drive his daughter 25 minitues to another school. This does not make sense just because of the drive but also because the school scores low on tests. His reasoning was that it will build her to be better and that it would help her in the long run. But I do not think it will I think that is would her. This is because she will not be getting the same education and when she goes to highschool she will struggle then it will be hard for her to get into college. Then on top of that she will be really tired for having to wake up so much earlier. When you are really tired its hard to stay focused and she will have struggles on her studies. So this is why the artical does not make sense to me.
